    The most impressive reef tank…

Aquarium Architecture was featured in UltraMarine Magazine, Issue 55. UltraMarine is a leading marine specialist magazine aimed at aquarium enthusiasts from the absolute beginner to the most advanced aquarist.

The article features “a jaw-dropping inspirational 10,500 litre reef system designed and maintained by Aquarium Architecture”.  In the twelve page spread the magazine looks at different aspects from construction to maintenance regime to the outstanding variety of fish and corals that live in the reef tank.

Talking about the aquarium designed and maintained by Aquarium Architecture, the author says “There are no public aquaria or zoo “reef” exhibits that even come close in my opinion. It really is the best reef aquarium system I’ve ever seen in person…”

At Aquarium Architecture we believe that in order to achieve something outstanding the planning of the project is crucial. With all our aquariums we only use high-end equipment that will perform great in the years to come. This point was highlighted in the article and the author said “I think it speaks volumes about Aquarium Architecture that they acknowledge that the key to the system’s ongoing success is stability. (…) In short, no corner has been cut, and certainly, no expense has been spared!”

Another key factor in the success of an aquarium is the maintenance schedule. Depending on the size and the system type of a reef aquarium, maintenance can be done weekly or every two weeks. Taking into consideration the size of this aquarium, maintenance is done twice a week. Our specialists also create a personalised feeding regime and even create specific frozen mixes for clients. The author points out that “this feeding regime seems to work well indeed many of the fish and corals are the healthiest examples I’ve ever seen, exhibiting stunning colouration, vitality and size.”

There are well over 200 individuals hosted in this aquarium and some of the species mentioned in the article are:

    • The huge variety of Anthias
    • The golden hawkfish
    • Parrotfish
    • Bluestripe orange tamarin wrasse
    • Gem tang

We would like to thank the team at UltraMarine Magazine for such a comprehensive article on this beautiful reef tank.
