“Ocean Kitchen” Aquarium

  • “Ocean Kitchen” Aquarium

    September 2014

In a previous article we talked about the ideal location of a custom made aquarium in a house and we highlighted the increasing popularity of aquariums in the kitchen/dinning area. This part of the house has truly become an entertaining space with more and more people focusing in integrating stylish features and designs in order to bring the room to live.

One of a recent project that we loved at Aquarium Architecture is the Ocean Kitchen Aquarium created by Dutch designer Robert Kolenik. In the design of the room, the main decoration is a breath taking custom made aquarium which brings the wow factor to the space.

The aquarium disguises the cabinetry, appliances and inner-workings of the kitchen using mirrored glass and aquascaping. The fish tank is designed in an L-shape to provide seemingly hidden storage space and it incorporates an electronic rising countertop to be able to feed the aquarium’s inhabitants.

Can you think of anything better?

We believe that by using a custom made aquarium, interior designers can create something unique that both the owners and the guests can enjoy truly. A re-creation of the aquatic world in your own home, providing you endless entertainment while inducing a relaxing, exotic atmosphere.
