Gleneagles; the 19th hole!

  • Gleneagles; the 19th hole!

    April 2013

You thought the golf here was impressive; well take a look at this masterpiece! This 15 meter high, 3 storeys tall, the Gleneagles fish tank filled with saltwater wonders is the core of this amazing house. Located in the countryside with 360 degree views of the world famous Gleneagles’ Queen’s Golf Course, this innovative house designed by Julian Hunter Architects is the epitome of cutting edge design. The Gleneagles fish tank is said to be the biggest private aquarium in Scotland.

The impact a fish tank can have in a room is just astonishing. Something as simple as the function of a staircase can be turned into a spectacular piece of work when combined with one. Have a look at the cantilevering glass treads that sweep around this cylindrical feature. The sleek, minimalist steps give off a floating impression and the use of glass allows you to see through to the whole three storey halogen-lit aquarium fish tank and its beautiful creatures. You won’t miss a thing!

Looking for a show stopping centrepiece for your place? Well be inspired! It’s always exciting for us at Aquarium Architecture to work on design like this so we’d be more than happy to sit down with you and discuss your visions and create something architecturally and breathtakingly beautiful for you.
