Interior Design Trends for 2015

  • Interior Design Trends for 2015

    November 2014

As 2014 slowly draws to an end, and the approaching lure of 2015 looms nearby, you may be wondering what will the new interior design trends be.  Well, one of the hottest up and coming trends is ‘Nature’ and it is predicted to be the biggest trendsetter of 2015 ranging from every spectrum of design – architecture, interior, fashion, furniture, colour schemes and much more.

The meaning of ‘Nature’ in this context varies in many ways, but it all turns to the idea of incorporating elements from the living world into the design.  Whether that means an actual indoor garden, a living piece of art, or the materials used, there are different ways to integrate the trend into your home.

Let’s talk colour scheme. For 2015, earth tones will be the popular colours among designers. This comes along the preference in using natural materials such as wood, rock and metal. Have a look at the Feng Shui aquarium installed by Aquarium Architecture for inspiration. However, if you prefer more vivid colours think Aqua Marine!

The distinction between outdoor and indoor environments is now less pronounced than we have ever seen before. In 2015 we will see more indoor “secret gardens” through living walls, nature inspired wall papers, large transition windows.  In addition, organic architecture is gaining more followers and we can already see that architects plan the design according to the natural environment. In 2015, seeing trees inside the house will be a prevalent thing. One of our most recent projects is the design and installation of a “floating aquarium” made of glass on glass.  The organic beauty of this aquarium is the amazing ability to take nature and create a living piece of art in its rawest form.

As mentioned previously, aqua marine is another inspiration theme for 2015. Whether using representative colour schemes or actually going a step further with a custom made aquarium, this is an ideal way of bringing nature into the home. The vibrant colours and the movement allow you to create striking decors or focal points. Have a look at the luxury custom-made aquarium created for a relaxation area. Quite exotic, isn’t it?

So, our prediction for 2015 is that designers will continue to move away from the industrial sleek visual, opting to seek out better ways to incorporate nature into their designs.  From materials to themes, architecture and design are both taking part in this design revolution…and is a trend that looks like it will be ever green.
